Project Details

Make Your School” is a project run by Wissenschaft im Dialog and Klaus Tschira Stiftung with the aim to conduct hackathons at schools in Germany. For 2-3 days, the students are implementing their own ideas on how to improve their school life, which range from homework apps to school garden irrigation systems to weather stations to robots. Through the hackathons, they learn how to work self-reliantly in a team and gain scientific, technical and social skills in a playful atmosphere.

Paul and Michael have been part of the core development team from the first pilot project on. Their work includes the didactic concept, development of the working materials, technical realization, execution in schools as well as trainings for teachers and mentors. Peter supports the project with illustrations and Minh as mentor.

During the upcoming school year, Make Your School will be run in more than 55 schools throughout Germany.
